Recycled Interiors - www.recycledinteriors.org - is very excited to be holding our first reader event, with venue partner Michael Hayes Furniture and special guest, Barry Du Bois!

Do you love timber? Want to know how to navigate what exactly is sustainable timber? How to find & select the right timbers at salvage yards? How to best finish timber with a range of products? How to find & work with bespoke timber furniture & homewares makers, and why it is important? And how to build like a pro with timber at your place yourself, or work with a builder using the sustainable materials you want?

barry du boisCome along and mingle with fellow Recycled Interiors lovers ( I am very much looking forward to meeting our readers!!), hear a range of fabulous speakers including our special guest The Living Room's Mr Barry Du Bois, who will talk with us about the importance of this building material and how to select ethically & sustainably when choosing timber.

Hear from industry experts including Michael Hayes who is one of Australia's top bespoke furniture makers and Chair of the Australian Furniture Association's Bespoke Maker's group.

Check out our Wood Expo, where some brilliant woodworkers will be sharing their wares, which you can also buy on the day. Meet, mingle and learn all in a fab workshop environment! Great food, good company and a goodie bag for all are also included!

Barry Du Bois is an Interior Designer and Master Builder with over 30 years experience. As one of Australia’s best-loved TV personalities, Barry possesses the unique ability to communicate his professional knowledge on design, architecture, renovations and DIY to homeowners who are outside the building industry.
His skill set encompasses everything in the home, from the kitchen bench to the garage, and he has a passion for educating and empowering people to transform their living spaces into something truly special.

You can catch Barry on Channel Ten’s Friday night hit,The Living Room, where he heads up the ever-popular renovations segment alongside Amanda Keller, Chris Brown and Miguel Maestre.
Barry also conducts regular home renovations segments on radio stations including Sydney’s 2GB and WSFM, and Brisbane’s 4BC, as well as running his own interior design and strategic planning consultancy service. Further to his work in TV and radio, Barry is an avid supporter of various charities that including the Cancer Council, R U OK? Day and the Salvation Army.

Last year, Barry became a father for the first time to adorable twins, Arabella and Bennett. We are thrilled to have him join us on this very special first Recycled Interiors reader event.

An innovative green building event in Brisbane is now open for registration and it’s free!

SEE Sustainable Experience 2015 is a perfect opportunity for industry and the community to understand why designing and building with green practices, products and solutions is beneficial.

Australia’s Dedicated Sustainable Building Show will be held at the Brisbane Showgrounds from the 18th to 20th June 2015, SEE Sustainable Experience is a show that highlights products, solutions and education focussed on protecting Queensland’s built environment.

SEE Sustainable Experience will educate visitors on how to design and build smarter via the use of sustainable building products.

Our agenda is simple. We want to SEE sustainability integrated into all construction projects as a matter of course, day in day out.
