Sala Verde – sustainable furnishings

SalaVerde is about sustainable homewares. They say “we’re not into “green wash. We choose the products we sell based on the materials they are made of and who makes them. We meet our suppliers and investigate their manufacturing processes as closely as we can. ” All of their current products come from the Philippines and many products are made from abaca. Abaca (pron: ah-beh-KAH) is a fibre extracted from the inner leaves of a banana tree. These fibres are sun dried and coloured using natural dyes. My house is an eclectic mix of “stuff” and all my own. It is lived in and that is the way I think we need to style our homes.
