Self Love and Compassion

By helene | October 14, 2017 | 0

In the dappled morning light, as she sat waking up her mind and body, her boho loving heart knew that there was no room for jealousy or hatred or contempt. There was no room for comparison, to punish herself for who she was and, who she wasn’t…. To love unconditionally, to accept those who were…

Poetry and Prose, Photos and Thoughts

By helene | October 10, 2017 | 0

I have been sharing more of my poetry and prose across social media lately, being myself and sharing my words. Social media is fickle and does not belong to us, so I thought I should start gathering these words and placing them here so they are not lost. I hope you enjoy, as I will…

Seeing Things Through Your Own Eyes

By helene | October 3, 2017 | 0

I have had a run of illness lately, which was very frustrating for a busy bee person like myself, followed by a few days of better health, followed by stabbing myself in the eye with a pot plant (not my first time), resulting in excruciating pain and a few days of being unable to do…

By helene | September 25, 2017 | 0

This house tour is one that is very exciting for me to share, after sharing Angela and her family’s beautiful rental house tour a few years ago, and in my book. At the time Angela was fairly new to Australia and had big dreams to buy their own home. A new baby and a few…

Cate’s House: Real Homes Movement Tour

By helene | September 19, 2017 | 0

Cate lives with her husband John and their two adult children, along with one cat and one dog, in a 1905 stone fronted villa located in the inner western suburbs of Adelaide. It is possibly one of my top dream homes ever and is perfectly situated just 10 minutes from the city and 10 minutes…

What is a #realhomesmovement home?

By helene | September 10, 2017 | 0

Whenever I do a call out for people to share their #realhomesmovement homes on our blog, inevitably some people will tell me that they have a home full of upcycled, recycled, sustainable and vintage pieces, but that their home is probably not “blog worthy”….my response to this, is that is entirely the point of the…

Welcome to Recycled Interiors & The Hub

Welcome to Recycled Interiors & The Hub - Australia's Home For Sustainable, Eco & Vintage Decorating & Design! I am Helen Edwards - Mama, PhD Candidate, blogger, stylist and lover of people and planet. We are unique because you will find our fabulous blog full of ideas, tips & inspiration; our Sustainable Home Hub, where you can find sustainable designers, builders, decorators and products for your home, in your area; our wonderful online store, packed with vintage items; handmade, locally sourced homewares; eco friendly cleaning and green living products; ethical and fair trade pieces, and more; and my sustainable decorating & styling services.

We are on a mission to encourage slow homes, and quality time spent living in them, rather than making them look like a magazine. Join us to refuse consumption of unethical, poorly made items, and increase sustainable living. Celebrate diversity and your own style, connect more with each other, and reject trends. Stop comparing, don't judge each other, and love where you live. Stop worrying about what other people think and more about what you can do to be happier, healthier, and create a home you love that's better for you, your family and our planet.

At Recycled Interiors we don’t believe in trends. We believe in YOUR style being perfect and in creating a beautiful home that feels just like you. If you believe in a happy healthy life, that cares for you, your family and the planet; if you love vintage, boho and unique decorating and design, DIY, op shopping, pottering in the garden and a good cup of tea, you have come to the right place! I look forward to getting to know you more.

WHAT PEOPLE ARE SAYING ABOUT RECYCLED INTERIORS & THE HUB

duncan-meerding

"Helen's blog post & lovely words have helped contribute to my Stump & Cracked Log Lamps trending on Pinterest! I owe her a big thanks. It is pretty crazy to see her blog article about my work being shared over 185,000 times. It feels a bit surreal & something I didn't think would happen when I started out on this journey in the creative world."

Jeanbag on the Sustainable Home Hub

"We are so excited to be connecting with like-minded people via The Sustainable Home Hub platform. As a directory, it’s a great listing for services and products with a sustainable focus. And as a platform, it’s providing information and advocacy for green living. It’s smart. And, it’s the way of the future".
